American cookies are the quintessential classic US cookie. You can find them in every supermarket, in cookie shops in shopping malls – but you can also bake them yourself super quickly and then eat them while they're still warm, mmm!


Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 4 pinches of salt
  • 250 g brown sugar
  • 250 g butter
  • 8 eggs
  • 350 g fresh flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3 bars of chocolate

Preparation:

  1. Mix vanilla sugar, brown sugar, salt and butter in a bowl with a mixer until the mixture foams.
  2. Gradually stir in the eggs, fresh flour, baking soda and baking powder until a smooth dough is formed.
  3. Chop 2 bars of chocolate and fold them into the batter.
  4. Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
  5. Form the dough into balls approximately 3-5 cm in size and place them on a greased baking sheet with sufficient space between them.
  6. Preheat oven to 190 °C (top/bottom heat).
  7. Chop the remaining chocolate, sprinkle it over the dough balls and flatten them slightly.
  8. Bake cookies for about 15 minutes.
  9. Enjoy!
