American cookies are the quintessential classic US cookie. You can find them in every supermarket, in cookie shops in shopping malls – but you can also bake them yourself super quickly and then eat them while they're still warm, mmm!
Ingredients:
- 1 tsp vanilla sugar
- 4 pinches of salt
- 250 g brown sugar
- 250 g butter
- 8 eggs
- 350 g fresh flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 3 bars of chocolate
Preparation:
- Mix vanilla sugar, brown sugar, salt and butter in a bowl with a mixer until the mixture foams.
- Gradually stir in the eggs, fresh flour, baking soda and baking powder until a smooth dough is formed.
- Chop 2 bars of chocolate and fold them into the batter.
- Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
- Form the dough into balls approximately 3-5 cm in size and place them on a greased baking sheet with sufficient space between them.
- Preheat oven to 190 °C (top/bottom heat).
- Chop the remaining chocolate, sprinkle it over the dough balls and flatten them slightly.
- Bake cookies for about 15 minutes.
