Spätzle fans can't get enough of these delicious cheese spaetzle. Everyone will happily dig into this recipe.
Ingredients
- 500 g freshly ground flour
- 6 eggs
- 125 ml milk
- 1 pinch of salt
- 350g mountain cheese
- 150 g Rasskäse or Emmentaler
- 1 onion, sliced into rings
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
- 1 pinch of pepper
preparation
- In a bowl, mix the flour, eggs and milk until thickened.
- Add salt, pepper and nutmeg to the dough and mix well.
- Let the dough rest for about 10 minutes.
- Bring a large pot of salted, boiling water to a boil.
- Press the spaetzle dough through a spaetzle sieve into the boiling water.
- Bring to a boil and skim off using a perforated sieve.
- Place the spaetzle in a large pan and heat it up.
- Grate the cheese and stir it into the spaetzle until it forms threads.
- Fry the onions in butter until golden brown and place them on top of the spaetzle.
- Enjoy!
